Spin the Wheel

Type your entries, one per line, and spin the wheel to pick one at random. Perfect for classrooms, giveaways and tough decisions.

Spin the Wheel

Quick answer

Every entry on the wheel has exactly the same chance of winning. Type one entry per line, press SPIN, and remove the winner after each spin to draw several names.

How to use the Spin the Wheel

  1. Type or paste your entries in the box, one per line. The wheel updates as you type.
  2. Click SPIN in the middle of the wheel (or press Ctrl + Enter).
  3. The wheel slows down and the pointer at the top shows the winner.
  4. Tick Remove the winner to draw several different winners in a row.

Example

A teacher adds 25 student names and ticks Remove the winner after each spin. Each spin picks the next student to answer a question, and nobody is picked twice until everyone has had a turn. For a giveaway, paste the list of entrants, spin once, and record the screen for transparency.

How it works

The winner is chosen before the wheel starts turning, using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). Every entry has exactly the same chance. The animation then rotates the wheel so it stops on that entry, with a random landing spot inside its slice.

To give an option more chances, simply add it several times. An entry listed twice has twice the chance of being picked.

Your entries are kept only on this page and are never sent anywhere.

Ideas for using the wheel

  • Classroom: paste the class list and tick “Remove the winner” so every student gets a turn before anyone repeats.
  • Giveaways: paste the usernames of everyone who entered, record your screen while spinning, and share the video for transparency.
  • Team meetings: pick who presents first, who takes notes, or whose turn it is to bring coffee.
  • Can't decide what to eat? Add your favorite restaurants and let the wheel choose.
  • Weighted chances: add an entry twice to double its chance of being picked.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. Each spin uses a cryptographically secure random number, so every entry has an equal chance and previous results have no influence.

How many entries can I add?

Up to 200. With many entries, the text gets smaller; for very long lists, the result message at the bottom always shows the full name.

Can I give one option a higher chance?

Yes. Add the same entry multiple times. Each copy is a separate slice with its own chance.

Can I use it for giveaways?

Yes. Many people use spin wheels for social media giveaways. For transparency, share a screen recording of the spin.

Are my entries saved?

Entries stay while the page is open. They're not uploaded or stored on any server.
